Day 73 9/9 Sunday, To Houston and rain, rain, rain

We had a pretty easy drive from Lafayette to Houston which took about 3 and ½ hours. As we approached Houston we watched some huge storm clouds brewing. Some of the lightning we saw was quite spectacular and in a couple of places Rob had to drive through some very heavy rain. We arrived early into Houston and we had to wait until 3PM to access our Airbnb. We decided to stop at a little “grill” for lunch and before we were able to get of the car, the storm hit. It went from being quite calm to extremely windy in seconds and the heavens opened once we were safely inside the café. The rain became torrential and the thunder and lightning continued as we enjoyed our meal. The power went out a couple of times while we were there. We ended up staying at the café for longer than we intended as it was impossible to leave due to the rain. Once it eased a little, we quickly did some shopping at a nearby supermarket and then headed to our accommodation.
