Day 36 3/8 Zip-lining and a visit to old Niagara on the Lake

The day started with an exhilarating and stunning ride over the trees and water opposite the Niagara Falls. It was about 1 minute’s ride but something we will remember for a long time. Great views! We then hopped back into the car and Rob drove us out to the old town of Niagara on the Lake. This beautiful little town reminded us of Hahndorf with quaint little shops and gorgeous gardens, flower boxes and hanging baskets all along the main street. We called into the famous Christmas shop which is opened all year and made a couple of small purchases. It was getting close to lunch so we headed for the bakery and bought a few things. We then returned to the car and drove to a small park/beach located on the shore of Lake Ontario and a picnic lunch. Wow. Such an expanse of fresh water and it’s only one of the smaller, Great Lakes. We returned to our accommodation via a “Walmart” store because Rob said he just had to visit one. In the evening we returned to the falls to have a quick bite to eat and then witness the spectacular lighting up of the Niagara Falls with coloured lights followed by a wonderful fireworks display over the falls at 10pm.
