Day 47 14/8 Tuesday Richmond to Charlotte and a Hospital visit!

A big driving day was ahead of us. We left our lovely accommodation in Richmond and headed to Charlotte, a 4 and ½ hour drive. Unfortunately, Paul has been struggling with extremely painful tendonitis in his right wrist. He decided that if it was possible he would go to a hospital and see if he could receive some treatment for it. During our lunch stop, the boys looked up hospitals in Charlotte that were close to where we were staying. We headed straight to Atrium Health Services in Charlotte. While Paul (and Heather) were seeing a doctor and having x-rays, Rob and I drove to the shopping centre across the road, found a McDonalds and had a coffee and used the Wi-Fi! A Vietnam vet heard our accents and came over and chatted to us about how Australians saw Donald Trump. We said we like to listen to the views of the Americans and the reasons for why or why not they think he is doing a great job. He was very positive about Trump and gave many reasons why Trump had met with Putin etc. I found a nail shop and went and had my nails redone. Heather and Paul soon returned and were very positive. Paul had been able to have an x-ray, a doctor had prescribed some medication and then arrangements had been made so Paul could have a cortisone injection at another place. We continued to our Airbnb, a beautiful home that we have all to ourselves. Once settled we drove to the medical facility where Paul had his injection done almost immediately. We really couldn’t complain about the Health system in the USA. Hopefully Paul will be OK for the rest of our trip.

And...is Rob still banging on about that "nail" incident? Hahaha :)
