Day 12 Tuesday 10/7 Chateau Bosgouet, visit to Giverny, Monet’s Garden and House

It was our last full day at the chateau and we thought we would be staying here and doing walks and odd jobs around the place ready for our departure tomorrow. At the last minute we were offered a ride to the town of Giverny and the famous Monet’s Gardens. What a wonderful experience this was. Luckily we arrived early and managed to do the exquisite gardens before the majority of tour groups and busses had arrived from Paris. I will let the photos do the talking but it was all that I imagined and more. We found the famous little bridge that we have a Monet print of, back home and the stunning pond filled with water-lilies. Monet’s house was very interesting too. We then went to a lovely little restaurant for an early lunch and finished our visit to the town with a visit to the Museum of Impressionisms which had a wonderful display of many impressionists original works as well as “Japonisms”. Even Rob was interested in the gallery! We returned to the chateau for our delicious farewell dinner, prepared by Jane Webster. We have had such a wonderful time here, reconnecting with relatives and meeting new people. Many new friendship have been made. We will be eternally grateful to my cousin Robin and her husband Kevin for this generous invitation. What an amazing 7 days we have had.
