After a very humid night we were up early packing as we were heading to new accommodation with Heather and Paul in Newark. We had really enjoyed our time staying right in the heart of New York City. Our accommodation there was fine although we lacked space to spread out which was to be expected. Our host who either owned or rented the tiny apartment was a French chef and we hardly saw him. We would hear him arrive home between 3-4am in the morning and he would be asleep when we left in the morning to do things. We had the largest room for our bedroom. There was a tiny kitchen, a very small bathroom and another room which the owner slept in which may have once been a lounge/study area. That was it. Of course to stay here was much more inexpensive than the $400 a night hotel next-door. Before leaving the city area we took the subway and made our way to the Brooklyn Bridge. Here people are able to walk across the bridge on a walkway built above the car level. It gave us a great opportunity for more photos of the NYC skyline. Following this we took another subway to the Grand Central railway station another iconic building which has featured in many films. Soon it was time to take our taxi to our new Airb’nb accommodation which is a little further out from NYC in the suburb of Newark. We now have a huge 3 bedroom apartment that we are sharing with Heather and Paul and the owner does not live here. She was here to greet us and we can’t believe how much space we have. We went to the local supermarket soon after arriving and bought up some groceries so we could cook dinner tonight and for breakfasts over the next few days.Thursday, July 26, 2018
