We are extremely fortunate because both Robin and Kevin
have hired vehicles and are happy to drive the non-drivers to various places of
interest. Today we left the chateau and headed for the beautiful coastal,
historic town of Honfleur about a 60km drive. It didn’t take very long to get
there as parts of the trip were done on the tollway and we could travel at
130km per hour. Once we had arrived in the town we went for a lovely walk along
the seawall and back through a gorgeous park “Jardin Des Personalities” which
was full of beautiful plants and busts of famous celebrites who were born,
lived or worked in Honfleur including, Claude Monet. Following this we stopped
at one of the many restaurants that surround the port, for lunch. Seafood is a
speciality and so we all made sure to enjoy some. Rob had some delicious
muscles. Later we found the very old St Catherine’s church and heard the bells
ringing following a funeral. We wandered through a very old part of the town
before meeting up with the other guests for our return to the chateau.
