Day 26 Tuesday 24/7 More of NYC

We started the day by trying a new place for breakfast before heading out to once again take the wonderful hop-on/off tourist bus on a different route to do the Bronx tour. We have really been able to make the most of our 3 day pass with this company, completing the Downtown tour, the Uptown and Harlem tour, the night tour and the Liberty cruise before today’s Bronx tour. We have been able to see all the iconic places New York is known for like the Empire State Building, the Chrysler building, 5th Avenue, Times Square, Broadway, Maddison Square garden, World Trade centre etc. Following our bus tour, Rob, Heather and myself hopped on another bus and headed for Central Park. Paul needed some rest time and so he headed back to their accommodation. The 3 of us enjoyed a long walk through Central Park and checked out some of the iconic areas, like Strawberry Fields dedicated to John Lennon, the Bow Bridge (from You’ve Got Mail) etc. After walking through Central Park we arrived at the Museum of the City of New York. Entrance to this museum was included in our hop-on bus ticket so in we went. It was an excellent museum mainly dedicated to the history of New York City from 1609 to today. Many interactive displays were scattered over the 3 levels and once again we could have spent a lot longer there if time had allowed. We returned to our accommodation to prepare for a night out at a theatre, in fact the theatre that is directly across the road from our accommodation and just happens to be showing the musical, “Kinky Boots.” We all thoroughly enjoyed the show!
