After a lovely stay in Newark and New York City, we left
the Newark Penn Station on an Amtrak train bound for Boston. It was a
fantastic, relaxing and enjoyable journey with many interesting things to look
at as we sped along the tracks. Boats, beaches, lush forest were some of the
sights we took in. Once we’d arrived in Boston we ordered an Uber. He took us
to our new home, a lovely place we have all to ourselves in the upmarket area
of Newton. We were really impressed with Boston. The clean streets, many trees,
parks, gardens, homes beautifully maintained and the people were friendly and
not as “brash” as the New Yorkers! After
settling in to our new abode, we took a train heading for Fenway Park, hoping
to get some tickets for the baseball. We managed to get 2 tickets from one guy
at the station so that was a start. Unfortunately the train we were on broke
down and we all had to get off and back on the next [H1] one. No
one complained. Everyone just took it in their stride. Once we had safely made
it to Fenway Park, the boys were able to trade our 2 tickets for 4 tickets
seated together. Yay. Baseball was fantastic, with the Red Sox beating the
Twins, 10 to 4! Rob managed to find a vacant seat behind home plate. He sat
there and back in Adelaide Jas was watching the baseball on TV and saw and
recorded her father enjoying himself. Just amazing!
