The weather today although warm was (34c) was less humid
which we were all thankful for. We decided to take the bus into town for a
change as it wasn’t as far to walk to the bus stop. It was a very comfortable
ride in and once in the city we bought tickets for the “Old Town Trolley Tours”.
This was a hop-on, hop-off bus and it took us all around the old and new parts
of Boston with some good (but corny) commentary. We hopped off the bus and at
the Harbour and did a lovely harbour cruise which was included in our ticket
price. We learnt that so much of Boston has built on reclaimed land and even
now there were construction sites everywhere. As part of our ticket deal, we
were able to visit the Old State Museum free and we now feel pretty well up
with the history of the place. After a little shopping in Macy’s in the late
afternoon, Heather and Paul returned to our beautiful accommodation and Rob and
I went off to see if we could get tickets for another Baseball game. We lined
up for tickets at the official window and managed to get $60 tickets in the
stand. We saw another great game between the Philly’s and the Redsox with at
least 3 double plays. It was 1 all at the end of the 9th innings so
the game continued. We stayed until the end of the 11th innings and
then decided to make our way home. Rob continued to follow the game on his
phone and while doing the final long walk from the station to our accommodation,
the Redsox won in the 13th innings.
